Arteta Praises a More Dependable Squad and Confirms Kai Havertz Injury Blow.

The Gunners' boss has expressed confidence that his squad can continue to cope with injury setbacks after confirming that attacker Kai Havertz remains out for the coming weeks.

Prolonged Recovery for German Star

Havertz has been absent since the summer following knee surgery. Originally slated to return at the start of this month, Arteta revealed the player encountered a problem when increasing his recovery and failed to reach “to the next level.”

“We learned, and we were able to put together a team that is far more dependable and has more options,” Arteta said.

Tactical Decisions for Midweek Fixture

This update leaves a dilemma for the midweek match against Brentford. The manager needs to decide between sticking with Mikel Merino, who found the net playing out of position on Sunday, or recalling Viktor Gyökeres, who made a return from a muscle injury as a substitute. In response if a larger pool of players was benefiting their championship push, his response was positive. “Absolutely, as this campaign has presented greater challenges in certain positions, and now what’s happening with the backline,” he noted.

“Our previous experiences taught us that we need to utilize players in various roles, and they must be capable to fulfil different roles if we want to compete at the top. And the case of Mikel is probably the prime illustration.”

Speaking about the complication noted by national team coach Julian Nagelsmann, Arteta provided more insight. “He was doing everything. He could not go to the next level and now it appears like we have solved that issue.”

He shared his eagerness to have him back. “We’re all desperate to have him. I mean, it’s a player that, personally, I value highly for what he brings to the team, but his personality, his nature. I observe his frustration while sidelined.”
