Countless Gather at Opening Israeli Burial Ceremony After Hostage Remains Came Back

While Michel Illouz carefully navigated through the masses beneath the Mediterranean pines and palm trees at the burial ground in Ra'anana, a city located 13 miles north of Tel Aviv, he expressed gratitude to countless visitors as he could.

"So I found myself this morning, heading toward Abu Kabir medical examiner's office to confirm your identity and bid farewell. They took off the covering, and the first thing I observed was that smile of yours, that optimism, that serenity and nobility that so characterized you."

Throughout the beginning phase of the service, Illouz had concentrated completely on comforting his smaller offspring. He stroked the hair of his female children, held his son, demonstrated love and gathered his emotions for them. But then his emotions surfaced.
