Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The full scale of any impact is not yet known and the American officials has yet to issue a statement.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the offensive on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites linked to the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The Ministry of Defence of the UAE stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.

It said missile fragments fell on a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
