Performer Denies Anti-Vaccine Stance After Voicing Controversial Pandemic Documentary

The "Taken" star has lent his vocal talents to a new documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccinations and commends former health official RFK Jr.

The Documentary's Contentious Foundation

Titled "Plague of Corruption," the film is adapted from a well-known publication written by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the health crisis for assertions that Covid was a result of a problematic version of the flu vaccine.

The book's co-author, Kent Heckenlively, has previously authored books with far-right figure the Infowars host. The producer took to social media hailing Neeson's participation in the documentary.

An Unequivocal Rebuttal

Representatives for Neeson have released a statement strongly denying implications that he supports anti-vax sentiments.

"Everyone can understand that misconduct can exist within the drug industry, but that must not be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the comment reads. "He is not, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His long work with the UN children's agency highlights his enduring support for public-health initiatives."

It continued that the star had no hand in the project's messaging and that concerns about its content ought to go to the creators.

Key Assertions Featured in the Documentary

According to the documentary, the script provided by Neeson features several strong claims:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have insisted on "blind obedience" to public institutions.
  • It argues that "medical science has become highly influenced by politics."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is featured claiming, "The core flaw with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • It also criticizes pandemic restrictions, arguing they caused severe distress that led to the loss of thousands of lives.
  • Regarding the immunizations, it references a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Historical Context and Ongoing Issues

The film further cites a 2004 BBC documentary about HIV drug testing on children, which was later the focus of a BBC apology by the broadcaster for editorial breaches.

Last month, Kennedy instructed the national health agency to revise its official position that there is no link between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is also referenced in the film, despite a new report from the World Health Organisation stating no evidence has been found.

A Past Record of Advocacy

Contrasting the film's narrative, Neeson has in the past expressed strong support for vaccines in his role as a Unicef global ambassador.

In 2022, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," noting that "The debate about vaccines in lately has lost sight of how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in our history."

The documentary finishes with Neeson's script saying, "This isn't the end of our journey. It is the dawn of a fresh chapter."
