Nico O’Reilly Another assured display by the youngster after his initial appearance versus Serbia. Saka did not capitalize on the opportunity from a clever flick over their defense. His position looks secure so soon. 7/10

Adam Wharton His first start for his country. A bit loose in possession however his whipped corners caused problems. An effective pace-controller available to the manager to have versus sides that sit back. Cautioned for a rash foul. Six

The midfielder Crosses from dead balls and set-plays created chances. Was given room to move down the left flank only to be in an offside position when the ball arrived in shooting positions. Given a merited rest on the hour mark. 6

Jude Bellingham Played in an advanced spot on the right while also put in defensive duties. Showed glimpses of brilliance but mishit a shot wide. Replaced late on for a teammate, his competition, following a yellow card. 7/10

The winger Had England’s clearest opportunity in the opening period, his strike smartly stopped from Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate holding position, he had to stretch the play on the right yet his deliveries from wide areas were inconsistent. Substituted late in the match. 6

Harry Kane The match-winner netting 77th and 78th finishes in an England shirt. His first a typical opportunist's goal while the second a classy headed goal after peeling away from his marker. Aged 32, he continues to improve with the national team stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament with him up top. 8/10

Eberechi Eze Had difficulty to influence play from the left. Had a presentable chance after being played in from a teammate yet the keeper made the save. His replacement produced a bigger effect after coming on. 5
