The Reform UK leader Claims Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Racial Topics

Nigel Farage has asserted that educators would initiate walkouts within weeks a Reform UK election victory, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a teachers’ strike very quickly after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They are telling them to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to Farage’s claims, Daniel Kebede rejected the idea that the education system was controlled by Marxists as “nonsense”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and questioned whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“The politician has crafted his political career on dog-whistle politics and currently, like Trump, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a fight,” Kebede stated.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. I don’t – and nor does my union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would undermine state services, including education … and the outcome would be catastrophic for education and children.”

Reform, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the educational framework. He said: “We have got a massive job with schooling – truly monumental. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that younger generations are receptive to analytical thought, but millennials were “absolutely hopeless”.

Honoring a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind as opposed to what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. It’s a massive job in both Britain and America.”

Reform has previously clashed with the UK’s largest teaching union, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted through education, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people work in schools in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

National strikes over teacher pay and conditions in recent years led to significant interruptions in educational institutions and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the institution in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I am serious. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this now and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a religious educational establishment, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of freedom. It offers these beautiful courses for free to all who wish to learn.”
